Celebration of Michael's and Joachim's wedding on Sept. 11th 2010
Dearest friends!
Invitions have been sent out - we would be incredibly glad to
welcome you on our very special day in September to share it with
you.
For this version I did polish up my English - it is quite okay...
but:
If you discover one or the other mistake, laugh about it and let us
agree on an non-agression pact, please!
As follows you will find a shortened, translated version of the
items given on our homepage to supply you with all the information
you may need.
Übernachtung = where to stay in Cologne
We would be delighted to accommodate all of you in our house, but
since we (still wonder why) do not own a castle, but only a cozy
apartment, we just cannot.
We although looked up some nice and affordable hotels, none of the
first five of them is more than 15 minutes walking distance from our
house, the church and the festivity's location.
The following ones are easily reached by tram or taxi
within about 15 minutes.
Please make use of the hotel's homepages and phone numbers. We are
sure, all of them will be able to be of your assistance in English!

Question of the day: WHAT SHALL I WEAR???
For our wedding we would like to have a very festive and formal
surroundings and atmosphere. We appreciate very much formal attire!
The link given could be much more of an inspiration than to take a
look at a farm...
Of course it is Royal Ascot, but for an idea...
There, supposingly, will be no chance to change clothes between
service and celebration. So, although the service starts at 3p.m.,
evening clothes should be given the preference.
For the boys, as usual, it is easier: every man surely is owning a
proper suit. The idea is more 'White Tie' as 'Black Tie' - Absolute
No-Go-s are jeans, sneakers, no jacket.
Girls' advantage is, of course, the bigger variety and choice. Hats
and gloves are assertively required to be worn during the service.
Look up the link above: More is More!
No-Go-s for the girls: jeans, mini-skirts, no tights and strapless
in church.

And just keep in mind: There is NO such thing as overdressing!!

Geschenke = Gifts
Everybody who knows our apartment will undoubtedly have gained the
impression: those guys do have everything they need. For all the
others: true!
After 13 years of living together nothing is missing - even we would
not be in need of the 4th coffeemaker or the 26th serving plate. If
you think on giving us a Reckelbus- or a Renoir painting skip the
following passage. If not:
Some wishes still exist.
We wish to have a wonderful celebration, we will remember throughout
our lives (hopefully our guests will do so as well - in a positive
way!). We also would like to recover from the effort (YOU just have
to solemnise...) going on a short trip in autumn. To support the
latter and the celebration, a donation in form of a gift of money
would be, although not being too inventive, a delight and most
welcome.
